  • Handling Cookies Is a Minefield
    > Sure you can't search for a name of a company or a project and expect it to be related to the company or project. But there's no way to solve that. There's a way to solve it partially: you can have a special part of your namespace tied to domains and require that eg com.google.some-package be signed by a certificate that can also sign some-package.google.com Of course, there's no guarantee that... - Source: Hacker News / 6 months ago
  • The client is using the same domain for internal AD and external websites.
First, since the domain controllers will respond to "company.com", make sure they do not have IIS or another web server running on them using ports 80/443. If they do, move it to a more appropriate server. Source: over 1 year ago
  • The client is using the same domain for internal AD and external websites.
We just got a client whose internal Ad is company.com and their website is also company.com. They cannot browse the company website from the internal network as it points them to the AD. IIs Redirection and WWW record in the DNS did not work. Any suggestion on how we can get this resolved? Source: over 1 year ago
  • Proof needed for Phishingcampagnes made with Linkedin
I have an employee which does not believe that linkedin informations like Company can be used to generate a guessed mailadress like firstname.lastname at company.com. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Internal DNS Settings Blocking Access to Company Website
Our company has been around since before the Internet so we have the common problem of our internal domain being the same as our web domain. Long ago, we made a www entry in the DNS on our domain controller to point to our website IP so internal users could access the site. For clarity, when I ping company.com I get our local DC private IP, and when I ping www.company.com I get the public address. Source: over 1 year ago

  • Enraged and livid. Would like the opinion of some calmer minds.
You shouldn't have paid them in the first place and just called the cops to say they were trespassing and destroying your property. Dispute the charge. Leave all the reviews you want. I usually start with angi.com and personal recommendations from neighbors and friends for this kind of thing. It seems like any kind of yard work is a crap shoot and, unless you've got a landscape architect running things, most yard... Source: about 2 years ago
  • How can I get a webpage's code and edit it?
If you could just copy and paste their code, change a logo and some icons, and end up with a functioning angi.com then the web as we know it would be broken. Source: over 2 years ago

  • Any general contractors here? Considering buying homes that need some remodeling and don't want to get screwed.
One good option to find out real world pricing in this area is go to angi.com (angie's list) and browse their offers/coupons for the various stuff you'd want done. They probably have everything from bathrooms, flooring, kitchen. Several of the contractors will post offer pricing for specific jobs based on sq. footage. Source: almost 3 years ago
  • Hanging a Flat Screen TV
I used angi.com for a similar task but didn't love it. You have to pay a membership fee for a year, but for the task I requested, it was cheaper bc you save money as a member. Overall my rating is 'meh' but good if you're in a pinch to get it done fast. Source: almost 3 years ago
